2026 Event List:
DATE(s): November 18th
LOCATION: TBD
Holiday Wreaths & Botanical Candles
Celebrate the holidays with a hands-on workshop inspired by seasonal herbs and foliage. Participants will create a holiday wreath using fresh farm-grown greenery, flowers, herbs, and other seasonal botanicals, learning how different textures, colors, and fragrances can be combined into a beautiful natural decoration. We will also explore the creative uses of plants beyond the garden by making herbal candles featuring botanical dyes. Participants will learn how flowers, herbs, and other plant materials can be used to create natural color and scents while crafting a festive candle to take home. Each participant will leave with a handmade wreath or botanical candle to enjoy throughout the holiday season.
About the Farm:
Alexandria Real Estate (“ARE”) and California Farm and Garden have partnered to provide tenants established on the SD-Tech campus a truly unique amenity. Hanging from the side of the new parking structure spanning 3 stories tall are 288 hydroponic towers specifically designed to grow fruits, vegetables, and herbs year-round in this unique environment. With a beautiful greenhouse on-site to seed the plants and all harvests being distributed on-site, thousands of pounds of fresh produce will be grown each year.
California Farm and Garden has been working with ARE in San Diego for more than a decade. Over 100,000 pounds of produce has been harvested by hand and distributed to restaurants, employees, and food banks over this span.
As an employee at SD-Tech, please feel free to visit the greenhouse to check things out or learn while one of our farmers is there! California Farm and Garden farmers are typically on-site Monday-Friday each week, and more than happy to chat. If you happen to miss the farmers, we’ll happily answer your questions via email at info@cafarmandgarden.com.
