All over town right now #pomegranatetrees are dripping with heavy jewel-toned fruit! Don't forget - in addition to digging into those shimmering gems face-first, they can also be squeezed into juice for spritzers and holiday cocktails, and frozen for later use. Spread dry pomegranate arils (or seeds) onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, flash freeze for no more than 2 hours, then transfer to a #reusable freezer ziplock for use in the coming season!🍹🍹🍹 ...

It's a gorgeous time of year, don't you agree? Look closely though - the #sootymold covering this locally harvested quince is a creepy reminder of sap-sucking vampire pests commonly found on our orchard trees. This black soot is an indicator that scale or aphids are present, and as these guys feed on the tree, they cause honeydew to drip down, which is the elixir of life for sooty mold. Apply organic insecticidal soap to the scale/aphids, and wash away the mold with a hard water spray. Voila, vampires gone! 💀🌳 ...
