Urban Farm and Garden Design
California Farm and Garden provides expert, in-house design services to create unique landscapes that incorporate your favorite fruits and vegetables, herbs, fruit trees, and accompanying pollinators and California natives. Our designers integrate your property’s layout and goals to shape CAD plans that are eye-catching, water conscious, and mouth watering!
There are many factors considered as we develop our conceptual designs. In commercial spaces, for instance, we often focus on created a multi-functional amenity to increase engagement by creating a peaceful place for employees to take breaks, hold meetings, host parties and events, and learn. Alternatively, our residential designs can be tailored to supplement your family’s grocery trips, give kids a place to experiment and play, or create the ultimate farm-to-table experience for aspiring chefs. Ultimately, we want to create a landscape for you beyond the norm - edible.
Urban Farm and Garden Installation
As a fully licensed and insured company (California State Contractor’s License 1025826) serving San Diego and Orange Counties, our team knows exactly how to turn your conceptual design into something you can touch (and taste). We can:
Demo your existing landscape and haul materials from your property
Install irrigation systems
Build raised beds, compost bins, pergolas, workbenches and potting tables, walk-in enclosures, fences, trellises, etc.
Lay mulch, decomposed granite (DG), pebble, flagstone, etc.
Install our proprietary, organic soil blend
Plant seasonal fruits and vegetables, herbs, fruiting vines and bushes, fruit trees, and accompanying pollinators and California natives
We’re also happy to consult or collaborate with other landscape designers, architects, or other licensed contractors. Our expertise with urban farming and gardening - and it’s foundational requirements - will ensure a fruitful future on your property!
Urban Farm and Garden Maintenance
Our farmers all have experience and/or education in farming and gardening, in addition to the skills to promote a productive farm or garden year-round in Southern California. All products we use are OMRI certified organic, and we strive to source our plants and materials locally whenever possible. And importantly, we actively strive to support our local ecosystems and practice regenerative agriculture while exceeding your edible goals. Our team will:
Seed, plant, and plan seasonal transitions
Fertilize and amend soil
Diagnose and treat pests and diseases
Check and alter irrigation
Prune and shape fruit trees
Coach
For commercial clients, we can also:
Distribute harvested produce on-site
Host classes, media events, tours, etc.
Work with on-site culinary teams to plan menu items
Track harvest weights, water usage, and miscellaneous costs
